The Secret Garden of God
by John Yates
October 27, 2002

The wind of the Spirit is blowing to bring about a change in the seasons.

There is a secret garden that belongs to God. The King has been planting, pruning, toiling and tilling this garden. This is the work of the kingdom in the heart. It is the time for the secret garden of the heart to be open to the world. (God is calling this forth.) It is time for that which has been private to become public and that which has been hidden to be revealed. The secret things will become visible. (This is the visible manifestation of what has transpired solely between God and the depths of an individual's life. What has known between a man or woman and God alone will become open.)

This is so for individuals, congregations and the church in Australia.

The flowers in the secret garden of God will blossom and bloom into the world. The fruit of the heart - work of God will expand to influence the nations of the earth. (This speaks especially of missionary endeavour.)

Look at the children: they are a key. Learn from them. Observe their simplicity, imagination, expressiveness and freedom of dialogue with God. This is the nature of the kingdom of God.

As the secret work of God in the heart is expressed there will be an increasingly visible line of demarcation between what has been the work of God and what has been the work of man in the church. Where the heart has been softened and worked by God there will be clear signs of the kingdom. Where man has been at work there will be barrenness.
