| 30 DAYS OF PRAYER FOR THE MUSLIM WORLD | Across
the world Christians are taking part in 30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim
World and we are inviting our members to join in this initiative. To assist,
we will each week provide prayer points and a list of nations for whom those
wishing to participate may pray each day during the month of September.
Let us make a difference in the world by praying for the salvation of those
who are seeking after truth. Let us pray they will find that truth represented
only in Jesus Christ and that many will come to faith through an encounter
with Him during Ramadan.
Monday September 15 - The Kunari People living in Nigeria,
Niger and Chad Please pray: * that God will raise up people to translate the Bible into the many dialects used within the Muslim world. * that God would open the hearts of hurting Muslim folk everywhere to receive His Word and healing into their lives. * also for the Muslims made rich by the sale of oil living in luxury without any apparent material need. Pray God would create a spiritual hunger within their lives that would see them reach out to discover the Jesus of the Bible. * for spiritual and physical protection of new believers living in the Muslim world where to leave Islam is called apostasy and punishable by death in many nations. * for Muslims dissatisfied with Islam to be drawn towards
the Messiah, King of all the earth. *
that God would reveal himself to the younger generation of Muslims in
a way that would cause them to question the teaching and values of Islam.
Pray he would create a desire to find the truth which can only be found
in Jesus Christ. |

| Cambodia General Election July 27, 2008 | Currently
ruled by Cambodian's Peoples Party under PM Hun Sen since 1985. The opposition
parties are led by royalists who have split ranks amongst themselves providing
the ruling party an almost certainty to remain in power. Nevertheless, Cambodia
is rift with corruption and in dire needs of better public infrastructures
particularly in transport and judiciary. The Church in Cambodia enjoys relative
freedom and is one of the fastest growing in the world. Similarly, Cambodia
economic growth rates in recent years ranked amongst the highest in the
world, partly owing to the low points Cambodia experienced after the disastrous
Pol Pot regime and the civil wars that followed. Nevertheless, Cambodians
had been supportive of Hun Sen's rule and have voted him into power in previous
elections. However, price increases in food and transportation will be greivance
points that will be raised during the lead up to the election. -read AWSJ report on Cambodia |
