A CONTINUOUS SHIELD OF PRAYER SURROUNDING OUR NATION
A 24hour prayer watch over our nation is not a new initiative - far from it! It's been in operation on a daily bases for over a decade. 2012 marks the beginning of the 12th year of continuous prayer and intercession over our nation organised and maintained by the Australian Prayer Network. Each week for those 12 years thousands of Australians have been rostered to maintain a National 24 Hour Prayer Watch. This evidences an incredible commitment that we believe has had far reaching impact on our nation and its people, the evidence of which will not be fully known until we reach eternity.
We honour those who maintain this powerful ministry, without publicity or public recognition, but simply as an expression of their obedience to God and commitment to the Nation in which He has placed us. The National 24 Hour Prayer Watch concept was birthed at the 21st Century Church Conference convened by Pastor Ben Gray, CHI Ministries and Founder and Apostolic Oversight of the APN, which was held in Brisbane in early 2000. At this weeklong conference we spent several days gaining specific understand on different aspects of prayer; one being why we needed to establish a 24hour prayer watch for our nation.
During our time together, God enabled us to set in motion the 'embryo' of a 24hour prayer watch that has gone on to become, what is today, an effective national prayer shield. The Word of God clearly underscores the importance of prayer and God's desire for every Christian and Christian fellowship to be a House of Prayer (cf Isaiah 56:7 and Matthew 21:13). God has attached many wonderful promises to prayer: "ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened" (Matthew 7:7-8). We were again impacted by the two greatest commandments: "to love God with all our hearts and to love our neighbours as ourselves" (Mark 12:30-31).
In fact, right now, as you read this article, people are praying in different locations across our nation, lifting up an unbroken chorus of prayer and intercession for our nation. Since then the number of folk standing in the gap for our nation on a committed basis of weekly prayer has continued to grow until today numerous Churches, prayer groups and individuals numbering several thousand people make up the team that maintains watch whilst others go about their daily routines, oblivious to the prayer cover undergirding the nation.
A small, but dedicated team of people, are continually researching, analysing and preparing material (prayer fuel) for those doing the praying. This is then passed on each week to the Prayer Watch team through a confidential weekly bulletin. Prayer is undertaken across the nation, with each prayer slot filled many times over, as people pray in their homes and Churches for the prayer points raised, as well as those things the Holy Spirit quickens to them personally as they seek Him. Whilst most members of the Prayer Watch have never met, nor are likely to ever meet, their fellow watch members, each is sustained by knowing they are part of something much bigger than themselves. They are part of a growing house of prayer!
This week we celebrate one of the most important contributions to the prayer ministry of our nation. We honour the faithfulness of those who have continued to pray, often at great personal sacrifice of their time, and the dedicated team of volunteers who research and prepare the Prayer Watch Bulletin. We invite others to consider joining the Prayer Watch team as a means of making a spiritual contribution to the future of our nation. If you would like to know more about the National 24 Hour Prayer Watch please go to our website at http://www.ausprayernet.org.au/ and click on the Prayer Watch link on the left hand side of the home page.
In the next week or two we will announce an expansion to our 24Hour National Prayer Watch ministry. Watch out for that and find out how you, your home group, or Church, can become more involved in praying for our nation.

An Open Letter to the Arabic-speaking Christians
As well as the Church worldwide
As you are aware, this is one of the most critical and serious times for believers across the Middle East in recent memory. As a prophet, I have been seeking the Lord for a prophetic word concerning the situation in Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Yemen, and other parts of the Arabic-speaking world as well as those greatly influenced by Islamic teaching.
Also, in looking back at the prophetic word for 2011 issued by the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders, I read the warning we issued that said that Satan would try and start another third world war. One of his purposes was to stop the new missionary movements taking place across the face of the earth.
I believe we are at that tipping point at this moment where the situation in Egypt could de-stabilize the region to such a degree that just such a scenario would take place. Of course, new regimes could be put in place that would cause Iranian-type oppressions of believers.
This is why I am calling for the Body of Christ around the world, and particularly the Arabic-speaking community to participate in a season of prayer and fasting beginning as soon as you receive this letter.
Many may want to even have such a severe fast as an “Esther fast.” Others can fast as their health allows. If you are able to do an n Esther fast, I am suggesting for a three day time period.
Further, I feel like I am hearing from the Lord that what Satan has meant for evil, God will turn for good if the church across the Middle East will put aside their doctrinal and denominational differences and come together in unity to pray. The walls of division must fall if the Christian community is going to be protected.
While things seem quite dire, if the church will fast and pray together as one, the turmoil will die down and God will protect the world from a terrible war.
On a redemptive note, I see a generation of young leaders arising out of the church who are anointed to preach the gospel and see a great harvest of souls all across the Middle East, as well as North Africa, Central Asia, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

Here are some prayer points:
1. Pray that God will reveal every secret plot the Muslim Brotherhood has in Egypt.
2. Pray that every scheme that is Al Quaeda backed will be exposed in all levels of Egyptian culture, including the police.
3. Pray for protection of Christians across the Middle East
4. Pray for a smooth transition to a secular government.
5. Pray that the military of Egypt will not stand with pro-Muslim Brotherhood factions.
6. Pray that factions will not blow up the oil pipeline and that the Suez Canal will stay open for international commerce.
7. Pray that this Islamist revolution will not be successful and that they will not be able to establish an Islamic Caliphate.
8. Pray for protection for Israel from the terrorists that would sneak across the border into Gaza while the borders are unguarded.
9. Pray for comfort and peace for those who have been caught up in the midst of their nations being destabilized.
10. Pray for a movement of unified fasting and prayer to sweep across the believers in Jesus and powerfully impact the Middle East.
11. Pray for an Isaiah 19 highway of holiness to be established.
12. Pray for a Great Awakening to take place, with thousands of souls swept into the Kingdom of God.
Standing in the gap!
