I THOUGHT TRANSFORMATION WASN'T FOR ME...UNTIL IT WAS

LYNN SUZUKI HAD GOOD EXCUSES NOT TO GO TO THE TRANSFORMATION SEMINAR. First, she was too busy, and second, the conference scene seemed to her geared toward high-intensity Christians, which she wasn't sure she was. But at the Spirit's prompting and a friend's urging, she relented and went.

At the seminar, Lynn heard Ed Silvoso share about a woman in Thailand who sells ice cream from a pedal cart. This woman caught the vision of prayer evangelism and decided that she was no longer solely an ice-cream vendor, but a marketplace minister who with every cone would dispense prayers of blessing. Eventually, her prayers touched a particular client - the regional mayor - whose life was changed and whose office eventually helped return $7 million in bribe money which was then used to help the poor(click here for full story).
This shook Lynn. If God could use an ice cream vendor, she reasoned, couldn't He use her? She took stock of what she had which was two photography businesses, one on Maui and another on Hawaii's big island. The Holy Spirit showed her that she could bless lots of people by praying over each packet of photos that leaves her studio. And the blessing wouldn't stop there because each packet contains lots of photos that families usually cut up and send to relatives all over the world.

Lynn went right to work blessing the packages. Her office manager also caught the vision and made a point to tell her grandmother who is a shaved-ice vendor similar to the ice cream vendor in Thailand. The office manager didn't know that she had been contemplating giving up the shaved-ice business due to discouragement. The testimony of the ice cream vendor breathed new life into her grandmother who realized that she, too, would now be a marketplace minister who with every cone would dispense prayers of blessing in places where they would make the most difference because she purposely drives to the neediest parts of Hilo to serve those communities!

What began with Lynn thinking transformation gatherings weren't for her became Lynn discovering her calling and leading others into theirs as well.

Today, an ice-cream vendor in Thailand, a photography business owner on Maui and a shaved-ice owner in Hilo are partners in the overall plan of God to change the spiritual climate over their cities.

Have you thought such gatherings aren't for you? If so, take heart from Lynn's testimony. Your calling can come into focus.
