"Ex" Factor Treatment More are led to believe when they they see for themselves miraculouos signs and wonders (John 4:46-54). The 3000 did so on the day of Pentecost. Nothing more potent in curing a drug addict than when the person is filled with the same transformation power that made others like him into ex-addicts - the Ex Factor.
Einstein, Moses, My Father and Me Einstein's General Relativity theory states that the universe was not created in time (nor on time), but that time and space all began at once. Since time did not exist before the absolute beginning, there can be no natural or physical cause of the universe. The Bible is the only holy book that says God existed before time began, that He created time.
The Desires of Your Heart

When will God give us all our heartfelt desires?  We have faith that he will – but when will he actually do it?

The Most Effective Sermon Ever Heard I can’t help but notice as I travel and attend church that Christians shine more than heathens do.  Compared to them, worldly folk are dullish around the eyes.  It sounds conceited but it’s true: when you know Jesus loves you, you glow a bit whether you know it or not.
Melted Minds vs Solid Reality This article by Dr Charles Slack is written in response to a request from an Australian newspaper to write a piece on the resumption of LSD research in the USA. The Australian May 01, 2010 “Psychedelic drugs including LSD, demonised since the 1960s, are back on the medical research agenda as treatments for depression and trauma.” By Chris Ayres
Prayer for Sin City Why the city of Perth has not yet been transformed by God even though righteous Christians have prayed fervently (some unceasingly) for its transformation?  Some prayer groups, even big, interdenominational ones, are showing signs of weariness.  Why?  What could be holding back God’s hand?
Drug Truth: Murder Will Out Whether or not we want to hear it, the tough truth about addiction is the only thing that sets us free.  Anything less leads to jail, institutions and death. Drug-addiction is caused by taking drugs.  The only remedy is complete abstinence.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
Road Rage City

No use denying it: we are living in an age of rage populated by hoards of hateful humans.  There’s so much anger in the world that even reading about it can be disturbing so I’ve tried to filter out my own irritable bits from this article.  The Bible clearly says that, because we have Jesus’ love, the world of wrath does not belong to us.  We may be in it but we are not of it.  Still I must admit I really hated Googling “hatred”.  Thank the Lord that the final result was simply to make me SO grateful for fellowship with loving Christians.

Healing For The Wounded Soul Have you been offended lately?  First, the bad news: you are not alone.  Christians increasingly experience such attacks.  And if your heart is open and you strive to love, you may actually be more susceptible not less: when attacked, you may feel worse.  Now the good news: if you admit to feeling hurt, not just angry but emotionally injured, then you may well be on the way to complete healing from emotional wounds.  Actually, our first reaction to an offence, our natural response, is not grief or heartache.  Rather it is anger, resentment, even fury.  How dare they think they can hurt me!  At this point I don’t admit feeling injured.  I won’t give perpetrators the satisfaction of knowing they have power to wound me.  I don’t admit my feelings even to myself – or to God!
Eventually, truth emerges: I feel hurt, not just angry.  Now I can turn to God and ask him to forgive me.  When asking forgiveness, it becomes far easier to forgive.  That’s the end point: forgiving those who hurt us.

My Biography of Drug Abuse and Recovery The first week in March is the anniversary of my last drink or drug. Thanks to Lord Jesus Christ, I’ve had nothing in my blood but blood since 3rd March 1976 - twenty-seven years of a clean brain. Why did I take drugs in the first place? Why did Adam disobey God and bite the fruit? We should have known better! Or we did know better but did it anyway.
God's Word on Depression Western Samoa, which Sue and I visited a number of times, might just be the most Christian country in the world. Virtually all Western Samoans attend church. What Samoans do thoroughly understand is that Jesus in the culture means cultural contentment. Samoans experience God’s love and protection at a national level. Depression is so uncommon that the language has no word for it. The closest terms, still far from the mark, are anoanoa (sorrow) and fa’avauvau (loneliness). It’s difficult to be lonely here: the people are eager to invite you into their lives. Samoa is a poor country with no large cash-crop or major industry.
Repentance
The Bible teaches that repentance forms an integral part of our conversion and relationship with God. However, today the phrase is often used in place of being regretful or just feeling sorry.
The Other Nine "Where is God when it hurts?" is an often quoted phrase. Yet are almost casual when God heals - "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" (Luke 17:17-18). Rather than focusing on ingratitude and all our other human failings we need rather to concentrate on bringing those healed to the Healer.
Judge Not! Do you know that even if you are 99% accurate in judging a person to be a certain kind of sinner that, if only one percent of the population has that particular sin, you will be wrong in about half your conclusions?
Shiny Things

All that glitters is not gold. Most of the shiny things we see around us are manufactured just to glitter and glow, to grab your eyeballs in shops, to quicken your pulse, focus your impulse, moisten your lips and ultimately to open your wallet. Likewise, surface people is always superficial. It’s always the outsides, the coverings and coatings, the surface.  What we see is not what we get: it’s all two-dimensional constructs, attractive skin and only skin deep. But at the pinnacle of reality is Someone I have never actually seen or touched (although He has touched me), an invisible Person more real than anyone on Earth.  This Wonderful Individual gave His life for me so that I might be able to see all things clearly and not be deceived by images.
