| Women & Azuza Street Revival | The outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the turn of the 20th century saw a worldwide revival, particularly in the growth of the pentecostal and charismatic movements. Inseparable to the signs and wonders associated with the empowerment of the Holy Spirit is the renewed evangelistic fervour in the marketplace. Women played as important role as men and this is evidence even at the earliest stage of the Azuza Street revival, an event often associated to this renewal. |
| Easter Day- Jesus was Betrayed | It was painful for the Lord to be betrayed. A Bible commentator has suggested that Jesus was probably died of heart failure. Jesus, being painful over people’s hardness of hearts, bore all their burdens alone. He was forgiving about the wicked deeds of them all, including that of Judas. That probably speaks why Jesus gave up the ghost sooner than the two robbers. |
| 2009 Year of the OX 牛年 |
Year of the Ox or Bull to the Chinese is the year of hard slogs in anticipation for a bountiful harvest in due season. When this belief is taken to extreme and the ox itself is idolised we break the very first commandment given by God. Ps Allen Tan, expert in Chinese language development, explains how the Chinese characters for 'ox year' had come about and how the Church is to respond to it. In many shopping malls, a golden bull was set up for display. It reminded me of the sin of the Israelis during the exodus when they persuaded Aaron to build them a golden calf and subsequently worshipped it as their god. |
| Najib or Anwar, Who Makes Better PM? | Every Malaysians are apprehensive of the continued political uncertainty surrounding the nation since the general election in February. Is there a prophetic angle in all the intrigue surrounding the next Malaysian Prime Minister? The author thinks there is and laid down the augument for it with much conviction. |
| Oil Money and the welfare of Malaysians | Absolute power corrupts absolutely. And where immense wealth is added to the hands of the corrupt the effect is of mammoth scale just like the Petronas Twin Towers, the tallest twin tower buildings in the world. With the impending increases in oil prices all over the globe Malaysia which enjoy oil surplus over domestic consumption the effect of this price increase could well signal the end of the UMNO-controlled government that had rule the nation over the past 50 years. |
| Jesus Wept | In the face of these colossal disasters I believe Jesus Christ wept just as He did over the death of Lazarus. His weeping had the connotation of disappointment over people’s ignorance about life and death. “Death” as the Bible reveals is an inevitable end in the course of a human’s lifespan, whether as a result of natural death or death through catastrophe. The Bible does not want us to see “death” as something tragic, but instead seeing “Jesus as the Life”. Let life overshadows death. When the Lord weeps over these disasters He weeps over the unbelief of human beings rejection of Him being the Savior of the world. |

Political New Wave in Malaysia Anwar's Landslide Victory & What's Next? |
Outcome of
the 12th General Elections of Malaysia on 8th March 2008 revealed that Malaysians
are seeking for a drastic change. A “new wave” speaks of a “new
opportunity”. Christians, do not miss the new wave, ride on it. Malaysia
stands at a strategic location geographically. Do you know why God put the
three main races in this country, and why Malaysians speak three languages
– Malay (similar to Indonesia), Chinese and Tamil/Hindi? Just look
at the three huge countries around us – Indonesia in the South, India
in the West, and China in the North. Update: Anwar’s Landslide Victory and What's Next? |
| An
Inverted Fu (luck has come - a Chinese Symbol) |
Historical
background on the significance of the inverted chinese character, Fu
(luck or prosperity). No matter how many inverted characters of Fu we
have posted all over our household compound, if we are lazy, we would reap
nothing. All blessings come from God the Creator of the universe and there is no substitute for hard work. |
