A. Study Guide

1. The Church is the light of the world and its members are the salt of the earth,
but the marketlace is the heart of the city.

2. Marketplace Christians are operating their companies in a substandard manner because
they are copying the best demonstrated practices of non-Christian companies.

3. If every believer will go to work fully convinced that he or she is worshipping God through
labour and that every constructive action at work is a form of caring for God's creation,
our cities would be transformed.

B. Reflection and Discussion

1. Look at the four levels of relationship a Christian has with the marketplace and their descriptions (read opening paragraph of this chapter). Assess your present relationship with the marketplace according to this definition.How has Satan’s deception affected our understanding of the kingdom of God, the nature of the Church, and the Church’s role in the marketplace? (read para. The Heart of the Deception)

We ought to be by now operating at levels 3 & 4.

2. Share a story of God’s power in your place of business as a result of prayer.

3. Stop and pray for a need you presently have, asking God to bring a breakthrough in the situation for the kingdom of God. Consider asking a few others to join you in prayer for this need on site at your place of business this week.

Please pray for Mark as he was assigned to do a video taping session in a Buddhist temple as his business assignment. Pray for wisdom, angelic protection and even the opportunity to witness for Christ in that situation.

Pray for KS's son as he works through his faith in God through his academic pursue.
